OTET 2026 Application Deadline Extended to May 9 | Exam on May 29
Bhubaneswar, April 10: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, has extended the last date for online applications for the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) 2026 to May 9, 2026, giving candidates an additional month to complete the process.
Originally scheduled to close on April 9, the application window was extended after several aspirants reported difficulties in completing submissions.
Officials confirmed that over 70,000 candidates have already registered, with numbers expected to cross 1 lakh following the extension.
A significant share of applicants are in-service teachers seeking eligibility for teaching posts.
The OTET is a mandatory qualifying examination for recruitment of teachers in government and private schools across Odisha for Classes I to VIII.
The exam will be conducted on May 29, 2026.
Candidates can apply through the official websites www.bseodisha.ac.in and bseoexams.org.
The BSE emphasised that the extension aims to ease technical bottlenecks and ensure both fresh candidates and in-service teachers have sufficient time to apply without last-minute stress.
