Odisha Police Suspends CRRI IIC Bijaya Kumar Barik Over Vigilance Case

Cuttack, Odisha: The Odisha Police Headquarters has suspended Bijaya Kumar Barik, Inspector‑in‑Charge of CRRI Police Station, after vigilance authorities linked him to a corruption case.

According to the official order, disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against Barik under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018. The suspension was deemed necessary in the interest of public service.

The directive, issued under Rule 840 of the PMR‑1940, places Barik under the disciplinary control of the Commissioner of Police, Bhubaneswar‑Cuttack, during the suspension period.

He will be entitled to subsistence allowance (S.A.) and dearness allowance (D.A.) as admissible under Rule 90 of the Orissa Service Code.

This action underscores Odisha Police’s commitment to accountability and vigilance against corruption, following recent cases where officials were caught accepting bribes.
