Odisha Governor Advocates Tourism Development During Visit to Atri Hot Spring
Bhubaneswar: Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati, Governor of Odisha, visited the renowned Atri Hot Spring in Khordha district along with First Lady Dr Jayasree Kambhampati and emphasised the need for a strategic tourism development plan to unlock the site’s full potential.
During the visit, the Governor appreciated the natural beauty and ecological significance of Atri, describing it as one of Odisha’s distinctive eco-tourism destinations.
He noted that the hot spring, known for its perennial thermal waters, has long attracted pilgrims and visitors due to its religious and cultural importance.
Reflecting on his recent visit to the Taptapani hot springs with the President of India, the Governor expressed interest in exploring Odisha’s geothermal attractions and highlighted Atri as a destination capable of drawing a larger number of domestic and international tourists.
The Governor underscored the importance of coordinated efforts among the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration, the Revenue Department, and the Tourism Department to improve infrastructure and visitor facilities at the site.
He stated that developing better amenities and ensuring inter-departmental cooperation would enhance visitor experiences, strengthen Atri’s position on Odisha’s tourism map, and create economic opportunities for local communities.
