Odisha Extends EV Policy Till December 2026 to Boost Green Mobility

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has extended the validity of the Odisha Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy, 2021 till December 31, 2026, providing continued support to electric vehicle adoption and charging infrastructure development across the state.

The extension was notified by the Commerce and Transport Department under the provisions of the existing policy framework, ensuring that incentives and benefits available under the policy remain operational through the end of 2026.

The decision comes as Odisha continues its efforts to promote sustainable transportation and accelerate the transition towards cleaner mobility solutions.

The policy has played a key role in encouraging the purchase of electric vehicles and supporting the establishment of EV charging stations across the state.

With the extension, consumers, vehicle manufacturers, fleet operators, and charging infrastructure developers will continue to benefit from the incentives and support mechanisms outlined in the policy.

The move is expected to strengthen Odisha’s commitment to environmentally friendly transportation while helping reduce dependence on conventional fossil-fuel-powered vehicles.

The continued policy support is also likely to encourage greater private sector participation in the state’s growing EV ecosystem.

The extension aligns with Odisha’s broader vision of promoting green mobility, improving urban air quality, and supporting sustainable economic growth through clean transportation initiatives.
