Odisha Launches SIR Drive 2026 with 45,255 BLOs for Voter Verification
Bhubaneswar, May 30: The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) drive for electoral rolls commenced across Odisha today with the deployment of 45,255 Booth Level Officers (BLOs).
The campaign, running from May 30 to June 28, aims to ensure accuracy and inclusivity in the state’s voter list through door‑to‑door verification.
During the drive, BLOs will distribute and collect enumeration forms, recording family details linked to the 2002 electoral roll.
Minor discrepancies such as age or name errors will be corrected on the spot, while serious issues may require supporting documents.
Importantly, the absence of documents will not automatically disqualify voters.
The draft electoral roll will be published on July 5, with claims and objections accepted until August 4.
Final disposal is scheduled for September 2, and the updated roll will be released on September 6, 2026.
To enhance accessibility, BLOs will be available daily at polling booths between 3 and 5 p.m.
Additionally, 33,000 Booth Level Agents have been appointed and trained, while help desks and digital platforms—including the Election Commission website and BLO app—will support the process.
Family members may also submit forms on behalf of absent voters.
This initiative underscores Odisha’s commitment to strengthening democratic participation by ensuring every eligible voter is accurately represented in the electoral rolls.
