Matiapada ROB in Puri to Be Ready Before Rath Yatra 2026
Puri, Odisha: Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh reviewed the progress of the Matiapada Road Over Bridge (ROB) in Puri, directing contractors to expedite work ahead of the annual Rath Yatra in July 2026.
The inspection emphasised strict adherence to safety protocols and quality standards, with instructions to launch the bow‑string girder by June 15 and cast the deck slab by June 20.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Works Minister Prithviraj Harichandan have underscored the importance of robust road and bridge connectivity for the holy city.
Once operational, the bridge is expected to ease traffic congestion, reduce travel time, and enhance convenience for commuters and pilgrims.
Senior engineers from National Highways and R&B departments, along with EPC agency Chairman Subash Agrawal, joined the review.
The project reflects the Odisha Government’s commitment to timely infrastructure delivery, strengthening Puri’s transport network and tourism infrastructure.
