Malkangiri Police Bust Mobile Hash Oil Unit, Seize ₹100 Crore Precursors
Malkangiri police have dismantled a mobile hash oil manufacturing unit in Chitrakonda under the Nasha Mukt Odisha campaign, marking one of the largest seizures in recent years.
Acting on intelligence inputs, the team intercepted a vehicle near Essar Chhak on May 3, 2026, uncovering a fully equipped extraction unit and massive quantities of contraband.
The raid led to the seizure of 800 litres of precursor chemicals valued at approximately Rs 100 crore, 50 kg of ganja, 2 litres of hashish oil, and sophisticated machinery.
Authorities also recovered a vehicle with a falsified registration number. While the driver managed to escape into the dense forest, a manhunt has been launched.
Preliminary investigations suggest the involvement of an interstate syndicate attempting to establish operations in the region.
Police are now probing supply chains and distribution networks.
Officials emphasised that intensified vigilance in sensitive border areas remains a priority to curb trafficking and safeguard public health.
