Floodwaters Threaten Bhattarika Temple, Safety Orders Imposed
Badamba, Odisha – Rising waters from the Hirakud Dam have entered the premises of Maa Bhattarika Temple, reaching dangerously close to the sanctum sanctorum.
Authorities have imposed Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) at both Bhattarika and Singhanath temples to restrict public access and ensure safety.
The district administration has prepared contingency measures to shift the idol of Maa Bhattarika if water levels rise by another two feet.
Despite the flood situation, temple priest Sirish Rana confirmed that daily rituals and puja continue uninterrupted.
With Navratri approaching, officials are closely monitoring the situation to safeguard devotees and preserve the sanctity of the temple.
