Khandagiri–Udayagiri Caves Glow with Light & Sound Spectacle
Bhubaneswar, Sept 27: Odisha added another jewel to its heritage tourism crown with the inauguration of the Khandagiri–Udayagiri Light & Sound Show.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida launched the attraction, developed jointly by the India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) and the Department of Tourism.
The show brings alive the grandeur of the historic caves through immersive storytelling, blending light, sound, and modern technology.
Visitors can experience audiovisual narratives highlighting rock‑cut caves, sculptures, and inscriptions that showcase Odisha’s cultural legacy.
Two shows will run daily in Odia and English, each lasting 16 minutes and 7 seconds, with seating for 120 visitors.
Timings are 7:00–7:35 pm and 7:45–8:20 pm. Tickets are available online via bookodisha.com.
Local MLA Babu Singh, senior tourism officials, and dignitaries attended the launch, marking a significant step in enhancing Odisha’s heritage tourism infrastructure.
