Gyanesh Bharti Reviews Election Program in Puri, Visits Jagannath Temple
Puri, Odisha: Deputy Election Commissioner Gyanesh Bharti visited Puri district to review the progress of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) program.
Welcomed by District Collector Dibyajyoti Parida at the Circuit House, Bharti chaired a meeting where officials presented updates on voter roll digitisation and booth management.
Puri district has six assembly constituencies, 1,609 booths managed by Booth Level Officers (BLOs), and 13,87,930 registered voters.
Officials reported that 99.43% of voter forms have been distributed, with digitisation reaching 40.67%.
Bharti raised queries on the process, which were addressed by Chief Electoral Officer R.S. Gopalan and the Collector.
Senior officials including Principal Secretary S.B. Joshi and Deputy Secretary Abhinav Agrawal were also present.
Ahead of his temple visit, Bharti inspected booths in Pipili and Satyabadi constituencies, interacting with BLOs and supervisors.
Later, at the Shree Jagannath Temple, he was received by sevayats and administrators, and honoured with traditional Pattachitra artwork.
The visit combined administrative oversight of electoral preparedness with cultural engagement, underscoring the Election Commission’s commitment to both governance and tradition.
