A high‑level review of Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) in Odisha was conducted by Pankaj Kumar Bansal, Additional Secretary of the Union Ministry of Cooperation.
The visit covered Shree Jagannath FSCS in Cuttack and Gengutia PACS in Dhenkanal, focusing on strengthening cooperative institutions and expanding farmer services.
At Shree Jagannath FSCS, discussions centred on credit delivery, business diversification, and infrastructure development.
Senior officials including Odisha RCS Manish Agrawal, the Cuttack Collector, and OSCB CGM joined the deliberations.
In Dhenkanal, Gengutia PACS showcased its diverse operations—consumer store, LPG agency, fertiliser and seed distribution, and paddy procurement.
The cooperative’s model was highlighted as a blueprint for expanding farmer‑centric services.
The review aligns with the Centre’s “Sahakar Se Samriddhi” initiative, positioning PACS as engines of rural prosperity.
Senior cooperative officials and NCDC representatives participated in brainstorming sessions to chart future strategies for empowering farmers and strengthening grassroots institutions.
