Odisha Vigilance Arrests RI Sailabala Naik for Bribe in Fish Farm Subsidy Case

Koraput: Odisha Vigilance officials on Tuesday arrested Revenue Inspector (RI) Sailabala Naik of Kosaguda RI Circle under Borigumma Tahasil for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000.

The bribe was reportedly demanded from a farmer seeking trace maps required to avail subsidies under the Matsya Pokhari Yojana (fish farm pond scheme).

Acting on a complaint, Vigilance sleuths laid a trap and caught Naik red‑handed while receiving the money.

The tainted bribe amount was seized from her possession.

Following the arrest, simultaneous searches were conducted at two locations linked to Naik to investigate possible disproportionate assets.

A case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018, and further investigation is underway.
