Gujarat Police Arrest Bhubaneswar Couple in Rs 10 Lakh Foreign Tour Scam
Bhubaneswar/Gujarat: Gujarat Police have arrested a couple from Bhubaneswar for allegedly duping several people in a foreign tour scam worth Rs 10 lakh.
According to officials, the accused operated a travel agency in Bhubaneswar and lured customers from Gujarat with promises of attractive overseas tour packages.
Victims paid large sums in advance but never received the promised services. When refunds were denied, complaints were lodged in Gujarat.
A special police team tracked the couple to Bhubaneswar, where they were found with packed suitcases, raising suspicion that they were preparing to flee.
The duo has been taken into custody and will be interrogated in Gujarat to uncover the full extent of the fraud.
Authorities have urged citizens to verify the authenticity of travel agencies before making payments.
Police also appealed to potential victims in Odisha to come forward if they were similarly defrauded.
This case has sparked concerns about fraudulent travel schemes and highlighted the need for stricter oversight of tour operators.
