Kendrapara: Domestic Quarrel Turns Violent, Couple Critical
A shocking incident unfolded in Malipur village under Pattamundai police station limits of Kendrapara district, Odisha, when a domestic quarrel spiralled into violence.
According to police sources, a man attacked his wife multiple times with a sharp knife following a heated dispute.
Neighbours rushed to the scene after hearing cries and found the woman bleeding profusely.
She was immediately taken to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, where her condition remains critical.
Soon after the assault, the husband allegedly consumed poison near a canal. Locals discovered him semi‑conscious with a blood‑stained knife and a poison bottle beside him.
He was also shifted to the hospital in serious condition.
Police have collected evidence and launched an investigation into the matter. Preliminary inquiry suggests long‑standing family disputes may have triggered the quarrel, though the exact cause is yet to be established.
