Barbil — In a spirited tribute to the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Odisha Police is set to celebrate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) on 31st October 2025, marking the birth anniversary of India’s “Iron Man.” The occasion honours Patel’s pivotal role in forging India’s unity and integrity.

Under the guidance of the Superintendent of Police, Keonjhar, Barbil Police kick-started the celebrations with a Debate Competition held at Jindal School and Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir, Barbil.

The theme “The vision of Sardar Patel is the foundation of India’s unity” resonated in multiple languages, including Odia and Hindi, emphasising Patel’s practical and visionary approach to national integration.

A large number of students participated with enthusiasm, showcasing insightful perspectives and patriotic fervour.

The results were declared in the presence of SDPO Barbil, IIC Barbil, and faculty members of both institutions, adding prestige to the event.

Continuing the momentum, Barbil College and ITI College, Barbil, will host a similar debate on 30th October 2025 from 11:00 AM onwards, inviting youth voices to reflect on unity and leadership.

Tomorrow, on 31st October, Barbil Police will organise a Walkathon from Indoor Stadium to Bikash Mahal, symbolising collective strength and public participation.

Winners and participants will be felicitated during the concluding ceremony, reinforcing the spirit of unity and civic pride.

In parallel, a Cyber Awareness Programme was conducted at both schools to educate students on responsible social media use and protection against cyber fraud and exploitation, a timely initiative in today’s digital age.

Barbil Police urges all citizens to actively participate and make the celebration a grand success, honouring the values of unity, vigilance and national pride.
