Balianta Mob Lynching Case: Victim’s Father Submits Phones, Demands Wider Probe

Bhubaneswar, July 26: Dusasan Swain, father of slain youth Saumyaranjan Swain, appeared before the Crime Branch in Bhubaneswar and was interrogated for nearly five hours in connection with the Balianta mob lynching case.

He submitted his son’s mobile phones, claiming they contain crucial evidence, including messages exchanged with suspended ADG Dayal Gangwar.

According to Dusasan, Saumyaranjan sent a message to Gangwar on the morning of his death stating, “Forgive me. Such mistakes will not happen again.”

He urged investigators to conduct lie detection tests on two young women who gave statements in the case and demanded that Biranchi, who had possession of Saumyaranjan’s car keys, be included in the probe.

Dusasan emphasised that the investigation must uncover the conspiracy behind the killing before filing the chargesheet, insisting that justice for his son requires exposing the truth.
