Srimandir Shuts Inner Darshan Amid Ratna Bhandar Count

Puri, Odisha: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has announced that Bhitar Kath Darshan (inner sanctum darshan from the wooden barricade) will remain closed during the ongoing Ratna Bhandar inventory process.

The decision comes as temple rituals and elaborate procedures have delayed the counting of ornaments inside the sacred treasury.

Justice Biswanath Rath, chairman of the Supervisory Committee, confirmed that the inventory tally matches 100% with the official 1978 records, reassuring devotees about the integrity of the temple’s treasures.

Each ornament—comprising rare pearls, diamonds, rubies, and other precious stones—is being examined by gemologists and ratna experts.

To ensure preservation, advanced documentation methods, including high‑resolution photography, videography, and 3D mapping, are being deployed.

The counting process begins after Madhyahna Dhupa rituals and is conducted under strict supervision with enhanced security arrangements.

The closure of Darshan has drawn widespread attention across Odisha, with devotees closely following updates on the temple’s priceless Ratna Bhandar.
