Sambalpur Cyber Police Arrest Three Siblings in ₹25 Lakh Fraud Case
Sambalpur cyber police have arrested three siblings — Jharana Badi, Rajesh Badi, and Rajkumari Badi — for allegedly duping a man of ₹25 lakh through a fake Facebook profile.
According to police, Jharana created a false identity under the name Disha Agarwal after being inspired by a YouTube video.
She convinced victim Lipak Kumar Pradhan to invest money with promises of high returns.
To strengthen the deception, Rajesh was introduced as her “boyfriend and business partner.”
Following the victim’s complaint, a case was registered at the Cyber Police Station, Sambalpur.
During the investigation, police seized ₹15.50 lakh in cash, gold and silver ornaments worth around ₹12 lakh, 20 mobile phones, a laptop, a tablet, a Honda Activa scooter, fake identity documents, and materials allegedly used for preparing counterfeit currency-like notes.
Authorities confirmed that further investigation is underway to trace additional victims and financial transactions linked to the fraud.
