Sambalpur ARI Suspended Over Bribe Allegations
Sambalpur: The district administration has suspended Assistant Revenue Inspector (ARI) Surendra Sa following allegations of demanding a bribe for issuing an Economically Weaker Section (EWS) certificate.
According to reports, Sa allegedly asked an applicant to pay Rs 3,000 to expedite the certificate process within a day.
Acting on a formal complaint, the Collectorate initiated disciplinary proceedings under the Orissa Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1962.
During the suspension period, Sa will remain under the administrative control of the Sub‑Collector of Kuchinda and is prohibited from leaving headquarters without prior approval.
He will be entitled to subsistence allowance as per the Orissa Service Code.
The suspension order underscores the administration’s zero‑tolerance stance on corruption and misuse of authority in public service delivery.
