Major Maoist Arms Dump Unearthed in Malkangiri

Security forces in Odisha have achieved a significant breakthrough in their anti‑Maoist operations with the discovery of a major arms dump in Malkangiri district.

Acting on intelligence inputs, personnel conducted a search in the forested region and unearthed a cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives believed to have been stockpiled by Maoist insurgents.

Officials stated that the recovery marks a setback for Maoist activities in the area, which has long been considered a stronghold.

The seized materials included country‑made firearms, detonators, and other combat supplies intended for use in attacks against security forces and civilians.

Authorities emphasised that the operation not only weakens Maoist capabilities but also enhances safety for local communities.
