Puri: Youth Injured in Bomb Attack Linked to Mining Rivalry

A late‑night bomb attack outside a farmhouse in Delanga, Puri district, left one youth injured and sparked concerns over rising criminal activity linked to illegal mining disputes.

According to police, miscreants hurled three bombs near Haripur College around 11:30 pm.

One exploded, injuring a youth who was rushed for treatment and is now out of danger.

Two unexploded bombs were recovered from the site.

The attackers also vandalised a parked car before fleeing.

Preliminary investigations suggest the incident was triggered by old enmity and rivalry over illegal mining operations in the region.

Police have launched a probe to identify the culprits.

While no formal complaint has been filed yet, authorities are working to apprehend those responsible.
