President Murmu’s Odisha Visit: Railway Security Tightened Ahead of Three-Day Tour
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Police have stepped up security arrangements across the state ahead of President Droupadi Murmu’s three-day visit from August 3 to 5.
A high-level review meeting chaired by DGP Y.B. Khurania emphasised multi-layered protection at venues, travel routes, and railway infrastructure.
On August 4, President Murmu will undertake a train journey from Bhubaneswar Railway Station to Berhampur, prompting heightened vigilance at the station and along the route.
Additional personnel have been deployed, with intensified patrolling and surveillance at level crossings.
Her itinerary includes programmes in Cuttack and Berhampur, along with a visit to the Maa Kandhuni Devi shrine at Taptapani Hot Spring in Sanakhemundi block, where she will offer prayers and join a community lunch.
Special duty passes have been issued for authorised railway staff, while technical inspections and surveillance systems have been reinforced.
Coordination between Odisha Police, Indian Railways, and the state administration remains central to ensuring smooth execution of the VVIP visit.
