President Murmu, CM Majhi to Launch Key Development Projects During Two-Day Mayurbhanj Visit
Bhubaneswar: Droupadi Murmu is set to visit her native district of Mayurbhanj on a two-day tour beginning November 4, accompanied by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
The visit, which was earlier scheduled for October 28-29, was postponed due to adverse weather conditions caused by Cyclone Dana.
According to the itinerary, the President will arrive at Dandabose Airport before proceeding to the revered Maa Kichakeswari Temple in Bahalda.
A series of healthcare, infrastructure and welfare initiatives have been lined up during the visit.
A major highlight of the first day will be healthcare-focused programmes, including a proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the state’s Health Department and P.D. Hinduja Hospital.
The President is also expected to launch a nephrology treatment campaign and review facilities at the Rairangpur Sub-Divisional Hospital.
Several development projects are slated for inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremonies.
These include projects related to the development of Maa Kichakeswari Temple, Jahera initiatives, a Rairangpur Goshala and the Tribal Social Educational and Cultural Association Bhavan.
The visit will also see the announcement of a new sports hostel and the flagging off of the Badampahar-Puri Daily Express, aimed at enhancing regional connectivity.
On the second day, Droupadi Murmu will review community welfare programmes in Rairangpur, inaugurate a new CSD Canteen for ex-servicemen and felicitate three Veer Naris.
She is also scheduled to interact with sickle cell patients and assess skill development initiatives in the region.
Before concluding her tour and departing for New Delhi, the President will inspect the Multi-Skill Development Centre at Gorumahisani.
Meanwhile, extensive security and administrative arrangements have been put in place for the high-profile visit.
Authorities have proposed the deployment of around 65 platoons of police personnel to ensure smooth movement, traffic regulation and public safety across the district.
The visit underscores the government’s focus on healthcare expansion, infrastructure growth, tribal welfare, skill development and transport connectivity in Mayurbhanj.
