Odisha’s Ghare Ghare Triranga Campaign Unites Citizens for Independence Day
The Odisha Government has rolled out the “Ghare Ghare Triranga” campaign to mark Independence Day 2026, encouraging citizens to proudly display the national flag at their homes between August 9 and 17.
The initiative, guided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, began with a state‑level rally in Bhubaneswar featuring cultural performances, patriotic songs, and participation from officials, youth, NCC/NSS volunteers, and citizens.
District‑level rallies are also being held across Odisha to spread the spirit of national pride.
Mission Shakti women’s self‑help groups have prepared 60 lakh national flags for distribution, ensuring widespread participation.
Awareness drives include door‑to‑door campaigns, hoardings, wall paintings, audio miking, social media outreach, and Selfie with Triranga booths.
Citizens can also download digital certificates from harghartiranga.com and join online quiz competitions via the MyGov portal.
Special events include Partition Horrors Remembrance Day on August 14 at Jayadev Bhavan, featuring exhibitions, films, and plays.
Independence Day celebrations on August 15 will showcase patriotic concerts (Bharatiyam, Vande Mataram 150), sand art, rangoli, and selfie booths at Rabindra Mandap.
Officials emphasised that the campaign is not limited to government bodies — NGOs, private institutions, and citizens are invited to join in celebrating national pride.
