Odisha Sahitya Mahotsav 2026 in Puri Celebrates Odia Literature & Youth Voices
The Odisha Sahitya Mahotsav and National Youth Literary Conference 2026 was held at Sri Jagannath Sanskrit University, Puri, bringing together eminent scholars, writers, and young literary enthusiasts.
Organized by the Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department in collaboration with Odisha Sahitya Akademi and Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Parishad, the event highlighted the enduring richness of Odia literature.
Culture Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, the chief guest, described Odia as the “soul of our identity,” emphasising its historical depth and future promise.
Sessions explored diverse themes including the poetic brilliance of Upendra Bhanja, the unique translation style of Jagannath Das’s Bhagabata, and the evolving role of literature in shaping national consciousness in the 21st century.
Distinguished speakers such as Dr Chandra Sekhar Hota, Prof. Prabhat Kumar Mohapatra, Prof. Satya Narayan Acharya, and Dr Abhay Kumar Nayak enriched the discussions with scholarly insights.
The conference concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri Ramakrishna Tripathy, reaffirming Odisha’s literary legacy and inspiring youth to carry forward the cultural torch.
