Odisha Vigilance Week to Begin with CM Mohan Charan Majhi
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance will observe Vigilance Awareness Week from October 26 to November 1 across the state, with a series of activities aimed at promoting transparency, accountability, and public participation in the fight against corruption.
The campaign is being organised under the theme, “Probity for Prosperity.”
A state-level function will be held on October 27 at Lokseva Bhavan in Bhubaneswar, where Mohan Charan Majhi, Chief Minister of Odisha, will administer the Integrity Pledge to government officials and employees of public sector undertakings.
The programme will be streamed live across the state through the Odisha State Wide Area Network (OSWAN), enabling officials in districts and blocks to participate simultaneously.
As part of the awareness campaign, Odisha Vigilance will conduct a wide range of outreach programmes involving students, youth organisations, self-help groups, non-governmental organisations, media representatives, and members of civil society.
Activities such as meetings, rallies, walkathons, marathons, and awareness-focused Gram Sabhas will be organised to encourage public engagement in anti-corruption initiatives.
Special emphasis has been placed on youth participation through district-level competitions, including debates, quizzes, slogan writing, poster-making, painting, cartoon drawing, and rangoli contests on anti-corruption themes.
Winners will be felicitated during district-level functions.
To strengthen citizen involvement, Odisha Vigilance has urged the public to report corruption through its toll-free helpline 1064, landline number 0671-2305988, or the official online complaint portal.
The state-level event will also recognise excellence within the vigilance system through awards for the Best Vigilance Division, Best Vigilance Unit, Best Male and Woman Investigating Officers, and Best Public Prosecutor.
Odisha Vigilance has called upon citizens, institutions, and stakeholders to actively participate in the week-long observance to help build a transparent, ethical, and corruption-free Odisha.
