Odisha Vigilance Raids Baragada PEO’s Properties in Assets Probe
Baragada: Odisha Vigilance officials launched a major search operation against Kartikeswar Behera, Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO) of Katabhal Gram Panchayat in Baragada district, following allegations of disproportionate assets.
The raids were carried out simultaneously at six locations, including Behera’s double‑storeyed residence, a commercial complex, a godown, an under‑construction four‑storeyed building, his ancestral house, and his office chamber.
A team comprising five DSPs, eight Inspectors, two ASIs, and supporting staff executed the searches under court‑issued warrants.
Officials are currently verifying property documents, bank accounts, vehicle papers, and financial records belonging to Behera and his family.
Authorities stated that a detailed assessment of assets will be released once the verification process concludes.
