Odisha Vigilance Arrests Bhubaneswar Chief Engineer in Disproportionate Assets Case

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance has arrested Rajesh Chandra Mohanty, Additional Chief Engineer (Dam Safety), Bhubaneswar, for possession of disproportionate assets far exceeding his known sources of income.

During raids, officials uncovered a palatial multi-storeyed building, a farmhouse with a double-storeyed structure on 1.71 acres, eight plots of land, bank deposits worth Rs 1.81 crore, cash Rs 6.23 lakh, 350 grams of gold, and two four-wheelers.

Mohanty failed to provide satisfactory explanations for these assets.

He has been booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018 and will be produced before the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack.

Vigilance confirmed that the assets were disproportionate to his known income sources.
