Odisha Students to Get Free Training in Stock Market & Finance

The Higher Education Department of Odisha has announced the launch of the NSE BFSI Skill Programme, aimed at equipping students with professional knowledge in financial markets and banking.

In collaboration with the National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSEIL), the initiative will provide free training in stock markets, mutual funds, insurance, and financial transactions.

Eligible courses include B.Com, BBA, BMS, Economics & Commerce (BA), MBA, and M.Com, with each student receiving a 30‑hour professional certificate course on mutual funds.

Universities and colleges have been directed to appoint Nodal Officers from Commerce, Management, or Economics faculties to oversee implementation.

The programme, issued on July 15, 2026, will begin in 97 colleges and universities within a 100 km radius of major cities such as Bhubaneswar, Berhampur, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Jeypore, Kendrapara, Keonjhar, Rourkela, and Sambalpur.

This initiative, under the National Skill Development Mission, is expected to enhance financial literacy and improve employability among Odisha’s youth.
