During the operation, a clothesline wire had unknowingly become live after coming into contact with electricity.
The firefighter accidentally touched the wire and suffered a fatal shock.
He was immediately rushed to Keonjhar District Headquarters Hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The district is mourning the loss of the brave jawan, with residents paying heartfelt tributes to his sacrifice.
