Majhi Hails Rath Yatra 2026: Devotion Triumphs Over Rain

Bhubaneswar/Puri: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed heartfelt gratitude to devotees, sevayats, police personnel, and volunteers for ensuring the smooth conduct of the Rath Yatra 2026 in Puri despite heavy rains.

Majhi highlighted that all major rituals — from Nabajouban Darshan to Niladri Bije — were completed seamlessly under Lord Jagannath’s divine grace, even with weather‑related delays.

He praised the discipline maintained by millions of pilgrims and acknowledged the tireless efforts of over 13,000 police personnel deployed for security.

The Chief Minister reiterated his government’s commitment to strengthening Jagannath culture and positioning Puri as a global spiritual destination.

Key development projects underway include the proposed Puri airport, Jagannath museum and research centre, marine aquarium, and the Shamuka tourism project.

Majhi also announced that Puri’s elevation to municipal corporation status will enhance civic services for residents and pilgrims alike.

He emphasised that the government’s vision is to blend cultural promotion with modern infrastructure, making Puri a world‑class hub of religious tourism.
