Odisha Powers Ahead: 11 GW Clean Energy Push by 2030
Odisha is rapidly emerging as India’s “Energy Growth Engine,” with ambitious plans to add nearly 11 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
At the IEEMA conference, Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo highlighted the state’s power-surplus status and urged industrial incentives to extend into the energy sector.
Aligned with the Prime Minister’s Purvodaya vision, Odisha is investing in smart grids, digital substations, and AI-enabled asset management to build a resilient power ecosystem.
The state is leveraging a Rs 10 lakh crore investment pipeline, creating demand for high-grade electrical equipment and smart transmission components.
With strong port connectivity, Odisha is positioning itself as a hub for manufacturing and exporting electrical equipment across Eastern and North-Eastern India, as well as global markets.
Singh Deo called on global leaders to “Manufacture in Odisha, Innovate in Odisha, Grow with Odisha,” assuring stable policies and transparent governance.
Minister of State for Industries Sampad Chandra Swain emphasised Odisha’s plug-and-play infrastructure and investor-friendly policies, making it a prime destination for green manufacturing.
The event brought together senior officials, industry leaders, and national energy authorities, reinforcing Odisha’s commitment to clean energy and industrial expansion.
