Odisha Health Department Reviews Preparedness Ahead of Monsoon
Bhubaneswar: Health Commissioner‑cum‑Secretary Aswathy S chaired a high‑level review meeting with senior officials, medical college deans, hospital superintendents, and district health officers to strengthen healthcare delivery before the monsoon season.
The meeting emphasised proactive disease control, patient‑centric service, and AI‑enabled monitoring of staff attendance.
Food inspectors were directed to intensify surveillance following recent food poisoning and jaundice cases. District administrations were urged to remain alert and ensure timely, quality treatment.
Key programs reviewed included maternal and child health, vaccination drives, Ayushman Bharat, Gopabandhu Jana Arogya Yojana, Ayush initiatives, grievance redressal, fire safety, and child health campaigns.
Officials highlighted the importance of teamwork across the Health Department, improved patient convenience, and readiness to tackle seasonal outbreaks.
The session reinforced Odisha’s commitment to delivering robust healthcare services during the challenging monsoon period.
