Odisha Govt Rolls Out AI Surveillance to End Middlemen in Registrations

The Odisha government is set to introduce an AI‑enabled smart surveillance system across all registration offices to curb corruption and eliminate the influence of middlemen.

Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari announced that advanced CCTV cameras powered by artificial intelligence will be installed to ensure transparency in land registration processes.

The initiative will initially cover registration offices and later extend to Tahasil and Revenue Inspector offices.

The system will monitor attendance, working hours, and field visits of officials, with periodic reviews conducted at the State Headquarters.

To strengthen accountability, Registration Officers will be empowered to act as Executive Magistrates when required.

Additional measures include enhancing fire safety alerts and upgrading control room capacity for real‑time monitoring.

Minister Pujari emphasised that corruption and exploitation by middlemen will not be tolerated, and strict penalties will be imposed on offenders.

The move reflects the government’s commitment to building a transparent, efficient, and citizen‑centric revenue administration.
