Odisha Govt effects major police reshuffle, transfers 18 IPS and OPS officers
Bhubaneswar, May 24 (UNI) In a major administrative overhaul in the police establishment, the Odisha government transferred and reassigned 18 senior IPS and OPS cadre officers to various district and specialised policing units across the state.
As per a notification issued yesterday by the Home Department, several district Superintendents of Police (SPs) and officers serving in specialised wings have been given new assignments aimed at strengthening field administration and operational efficiency.
Among the key changes, Nabarangpur SP Madkar Sandeep Sampat has been appointed as DIG, CID-CB, Cuttack, while Khordha SP Vivekananda Sharma has been posted as SP, CID-CB, Cuttack.
Rayagada SP Swati S. Kumar has been transferred as SP of the Special Task Force (STF), Bhubaneswar. Bargarh SP Prahlad Sahai Meena has been posted as the new SP of Gajapati district.
Ganjam SP Shubhendu Kumar Patra has been shifted as Khordha SP, while Kandhamal SP Harisha B.C. will take over as SP of Ganjam district. Boudh SP Rahul Goel has been appointed SP of the Special Branch.
Special Branch SP Raj Prasad has been posted as Rayagada SP, while Nayagarh SP S. Sushree has been transferred as SP in the Vigilance wing.
The reshuffle also included promotion-linked postings. Bhadrak Additional SP Kashyap Partha Jagadish has been promoted and appointed as SP of Nabarangpur, while Rayagada Additional SP Ramendra Prasad has been elevated and posted as Kandhamal SP.
Governor’s ADC Kuldeep Meena has been appointed as Boudh SP. Bhubaneswar-Cuttack UPD ACP Ananya Awasthi has been posted as the new ADC to the Governor.
In the Odisha Police Service (OPS) cadre, CID-CB SP Krishna Prasad Pattnaik has been transferred as SP, Signals. STF Bhubaneswar SP Rabindra Nath Satpathy has been appointed as Bargarh SP, while Special Branch SP Krishna Prasad Das has been posted as SRP, Rourkela.
Further, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack UPD DCP Kishore Chandra Munda has been appointed as the new SP of Deogarh district.
The latest reshuffle is being seen as part of the state government’s continuing efforts to streamline policing, strengthen district-level administration and improve the functioning of specialised investigative and intelligence wings across Odisha.
