Odisha Govt Announces ₹1.20 Lakh Compensation for Flood-Hit Families
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has rolled out a relief package for families affected by the recent floods across 22 districts.
Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari confirmed that compensation will be provided based on the extent of damage to homes and crops.
Families whose houses were completely destroyed will receive Rs 1.20 lakh, while partially damaged kutcha houses will get Rs 4,000.
Fully damaged huts will be compensated with Rs 8,000. Farmers suffering crop losses will be given Rs 8,500 per hectare.
Officials from the Revenue and Agriculture departments are conducting detailed surveys in areas where floodwaters have receded to ensure swift disbursement of relief.
The floods have impacted 85 blocks and 1,458 villages, affecting nearly 8.63 lakh people.
The government emphasised that the relief measures are aimed at expediting rehabilitation and supporting families in rebuilding their lives.
