Minister Urges Calm Amid Scrub Typhus Concerns in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Health Department has intensified monitoring of scrub typhus cases reported in Sundargarh district.

Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling urged citizens not to panic, stressing that conclusions should only be drawn after ELISA and confirmatory test results are available.

A special medical team has been deployed to the affected areas to examine patients, collect health details, track symptoms, and provide treatment.

The department is maintaining strict vigilance, with further measures to be taken based on laboratory findings.

Officials emphasised that the government is committed to evidence‑based action rather than speculation, ensuring timely medical support for residents.
