Malkangiri Internet Suspension: Odisha District Imposes 24-Hour Ban After Violent Clashes

Malkangiri district administration has announced a 24-hour suspension of internet services following violent clashes between residents of MV-26 village and Rakhelguda village.

The unrest erupted after the discovery of a headless body of a woman, sparking tension and retaliatory attacks on several houses.

District Collector confirmed the suspension, stating that the move is aimed at curbing misinformation and restoring peace in the sensitive region.

Authorities have invoked BNS Section 153 to strengthen law and order, while police forces have been deployed to maintain security and prevent further escalation.

Officials emphasized that the internet restrictions are temporary and urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement, avoid spreading rumors, and help stabilize the situation.
