Gajapati Maharaja Oversees Second Phase of Ratna Bhandar Counting at Puri Jagannath Temple
Puri, April 8: Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deba, the foremost servitor of Lord Jagannath, personally supervised the second phase of Ratna Bhandar counting at Shree Jagannath Temple on Tuesday evening.
Arriving at the southern gate around 5 PM, the Maharaja offered prayers before inspecting the ongoing inventory process.
This phase focuses on the outer Ratna Bhandar and will continue for four days.
The inner Ratna Bhandar counting is scheduled for April 13 and April 16–18.
During the exercise, devotees are restricted to darshan from outside the wooden barricade near the temple’s main entrance.
The Maharaja was accompanied by Shrinahar Raj Purohit and senior officials of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration, underscoring the ceremonial and supervisory importance of his role in safeguarding the temple’s sacred treasury.
