Temple Treasures Looted: Bhubaneswar Shaken by Triple Theft

Bhubaneswar: A series of shocking temple thefts has rattled the capital city after miscreants targeted three shrines in Patia — Sikharachandi, Kanakdurga, and Nilakantheswar.

The gang struck at night, breaking open donation boxes and escaping with gold, silver ornaments, and cash worth lakhs of rupees.

Devotees discovered the loot the next morning and immediately alerted police. CCTV footage captured the four culprits, clearly showing their movements and faces.

Infocity police confirmed the crime was pre‑planned and have launched raids to trace and arrest the gang.

Officials assured that arrests are expected soon, emphasising swift action to restore public confidence.

The incident has reignited concerns about temple security in Bhubaneswar, highlighting the crucial role of surveillance systems in safeguarding religious institutions.
