Fake Railway Job Racket Busted in Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar’s Mancheswar Police have arrested Jitendra Kumar Bagarti, alias Jitu, for allegedly running a fake railway job racket that duped aspirants of over ₹44.76 lakh.
According to police, Jitu posed as a well‑connected figure and operated a fraudulent recruitment website, collecting money through cash and bank transfers.
Victims were threatened with acid attacks and even death when they demanded refunds.
Investigations revealed that Jitu is a habitual offender with prior fraud cases registered at Chandrasekharpur Police Station.
Authorities are now probing whether he defrauded more people across Odisha and are tracing the proceeds of the crime.
