Describing education as the foundation of nation-building, Kambhampati said modern societies are shaped not merely by natural resources but by the strength of their knowledge systems, creativity and intellectual capital.
“If we truly aspire to build a developed Odisha, our greatest investment must be in education and knowledge creation,” he said.

It also plays a vital role in reducing poverty, bridging social inequalities and equipping youth with critical thinking, creativity and confidence, he added.
Highlighting Odisha’s progress through education-led development, Kambhampati praised the state government for prioritising the education sector and implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 comprehensively.
He said the focus on mother tongue-based learning, digital empowerment, multidisciplinary education and skill development reflects a visionary approach to preparing future generations.

He added that institutions like the World Skill Centre are preparing Odisha’s youth to lead in emerging sectors of the global economy.
Calling for collaborative efforts, Kambhampati urged universities, schools, research institutions and policymakers to work together in building an ecosystem that nurtures innovation, advances research and aligns education with societal needs.
On the occasion, referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for “economic self-defence,” the Governor said economic resilience and self-reliance are essential to protecting the nation’s long-term prosperity and strategic interests.
He said public participation and responsible consumption can significantly strengthen the country’s economy.
“Saving fuel, promoting indigenous products, encouraging natural farming and reducing edible oil consumption are not merely acts of conservation; they are vital steps towards strengthening and safeguarding the nation,” he said.
