Cuttack Police Bust Brown Sugar Racket, Couple Arrested, Son Absconding
Cuttack: In a major crackdown on illegal narcotics, police seized 46 grams of brown sugar and Rs 1.9 lakh in cash during a raid in Patrakana under Niali police limits.
The operation led to the arrest of a couple, identified as Madhia Mahanti and his wife, while their son managed to escape and is currently absconding.
According to officials, the raid was part of an ongoing drive against drug trafficking in the region.
The seized contraband and cash point to a well‑established racket operating in the locality.
The Cuttack Sadar SDPO confirmed that further investigations are underway to trace other suspects and dismantle the network.
