CM Majhi Calls Raja Festival Symbol of Odisha’s Progress

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor Dr Haribabu Kambhampati and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi extended heartfelt greetings to the people on the occasion of Raja, the state’s vibrant agrarian festival.

The Governor described Raja as a celebration of Odisha’s rich culture, nature, and tradition, carrying a message of environmental protection and social harmony.

Chief Minister Majhi highlighted the festival’s deep cultural roots, noting that it honours femininity, motherhood, and the creative power of nature.

He emphasised the belief that Mother Earth rests during these three days, with farmers pausing agricultural work to express gratitude.

Families mark the occasion by giving women and girls freedom from daily duties, symbolising respect, independence, and joy.

Majhi further stressed that Raja embodies both spiritual and scientific values, recognising the importance of rest before renewal.

The state government reflects this philosophy by granting additional leave to working women and supporting farmers’ prosperity.

Concluding his message, the Chief Minister urged that the rhythm of Raja swings inspire Odisha’s development journey, strengthening social bonds and family ties.

He called for collective resolve to build a prosperous, empowered, and developed Odisha under the blessings of Mother Earth, ending with “Jai Jagannath.”
