Exam Center Theft Racket Busted in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Sept 14: Infocity Police have arrested three suspects in connection with a series of vehicle and mobile phone thefts targeting exam candidates at iON Digital Zone, Patia.

The prime accused, Dusmanta Subudhi (35), allegedly posed as a guardian to gain access to candidates’ scooters and stole phones stored inside.

Acting on a tip‑off, police intercepted him during another attempted theft.

Investigations revealed that Subudhi sold stolen devices to local receivers — Rakesh Kumar Sahoo (28), owner of Master Mobile shop in Bapuji Nagar, and Manas Behera (30) of Khordha.

Police recovered a scooter, 26 mobile phones, and 43 dismantled displays and motherboards. All three have been forwarded to court under a 14‑day remand petition.
