Ganesh Puja Pandal Gutted in Sambalpur Blaze

A massive fire gutted a Ganesh Puja pandal in the Deheripali area of Sambalpur city on Monday evening, sparking panic among locals.

The blaze, which started with smoke before quickly spreading, reduced the pandal to ashes within minutes.

Constructed with cloth, thermocol, and wooden materials, the structure was highly flammable, fueling the rapid spread of flames.

Fire personnel rushed to the scene and, with the help of residents, managed to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby houses and shops.

While no casualties were reported, the incident caused significant damage to the festive setup.

Authorities suspect an electrical short circuit as the possible cause, though the exact reason is yet to be confirmed.

Police and fire officials have launched an investigation.
