Nuapada Theft Near SP Residence: ₹25 Lakh Sarees Looted, Police Probe Intensifies

Nuapada witnessed a shocking burglary just steps away from the official residence of Superintendent of Police Amritpal Singh.

The incident occurred at the home of retired professor Kishore Kumar Barik and teacher Swarnalata Jhankar, situated along National Highway 353.

The burglars made off with silk sarees valued at nearly ₹25 lakh, in addition to cash, silver articles, and silver coins.

The couple discovered the theft on Monday morning and immediately alerted the police.

A police team rushed to the spot and launched an investigation.

Authorities have intensified efforts to track down the culprits, with the crime drawing heightened attention due to its proximity to the SP’s residence and the busy highway location.

Residents expressed concern over the daring nature of the burglary, underscoring the need for stronger security measures in the area.
