OMFED Diversifies into Packaged Water and New Ice Cream Flavours
Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s leading dairy cooperative, OMFED, is set to expand its product portfolio beyond milk and dairy by introducing packaged drinking water and new ice cream flavours.
The move, pending board approval, aims to capture a significant share of Odisha’s bottled water market while strengthening OMFED’s consumer presence.
Currently, OMFED offers ice creams in popular flavours such as chocolate, butterscotch, strawberry, kesar pista, mango, and vanilla across cups, sticks, choco bars, and family packs.
The upcoming expansion will be supported by a new 5 TLPD ice cream plant at Kendupatna (Cuttack district) with NDDB assistance, alongside upgrades to the Arilo dairy plant.
Plans are also underway to launch an OMFED chocolate line, awaiting government clearance.
In a farmer‑friendly move, OMFED has increased the procurement price of milk by ₹2 per litre, boosting rural incomes and self‑reliance.
With these initiatives, OMFED seeks to enhance consumer choice, strengthen its trusted Odisha brand, and deliver better returns to dairy farmers.
