Bhubaneswar to Get T‑Bridge and Road Upgrade to Ease Traffic Congestion
Bhubaneswar, April 20: The Odisha government has announced a major infrastructure initiative to tackle traffic congestion along the busy Jaydev Vihar–CRP Square stretch.
A T‑shaped bridge and a parallel road through Salia Sahi are being developed to integrate with the city’s existing flyover network.
Construction of the parallel road is expected to be completed by end of April, with operations beginning by May 15, 2026.
A roundabout at the 900‑metre junction is also being built to regulate traffic flow.
Road widening, removal of electric poles, and relocation of the Ama Bus stand are already in progress.
Future expansion plans include a T‑shaped flyover and a new road linking Nandankanan Zoological Park to KIIT via Raghunathpur Jali, aimed at strengthening connectivity across Bhubaneswar.
Officials say the project reflects the government’s commitment to sustainable urban mobility, ensuring smoother travel for commuters, residents, and businesses in the capital city.
