Bhubaneswar BJP Corporator Continues Hunger Strike Over Alleged Government Land Grab

Bhubaneswar: BJP corporator Bandita Pal has continued her indefinite hunger strike, intensifying her protest against the alleged illegal transfer of government land to a private builder in the state capital.

According to reports, the corporator has entered the fourth day of her agitation, demanding immediate action from the authorities.

The protest, staged in Bhubaneswar, has drawn support from BJP workers and local party leaders, who have joined the sit-in demanding transparency and accountability in the matter.

Pal has alleged that Plot No. 892, which she claims is government land, was unlawfully transferred to a private builder through a conspiracy involving certain officials of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the General Administration Department. She has criticised the administration for failing to initiate concrete action despite repeated complaints.

As concerns over her health grow, medical teams from Capital Hospital have reportedly examined the BJP corporator multiple times during the protest.

However, Pal has refused to call off her hunger strike, insisting that authorities take decisive action against those allegedly involved in the disputed allotment.

The issue has also sparked criticism of the civic administration. Protesters claim that while the BMC had earlier kept the land allotment in abeyance, no further steps have been taken to address their concerns.

They further alleged that senior officials have not visited the protest site or provided any assurance regarding the demands raised.
